Our Story
Founded in 2012, OYA Magazine began as a campus-based youth culture publication at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. The platform emerged to fill a clear gap: young Nigerians were building remarkable careers and cultural movements, but few media outlets were documenting their journeys with depth and respect.
Over the years, OYA Magazine profiled emerging talents who have since become influential figures in Nigeria’s creative industries. This early work established OYA’s reputation as a platform with strong editorial taste and cultural foresight.
Today, OYA Magazine is relaunching with a refined vision, a stronger editorial structure, and a commitment to consistent, high-quality storytelling.
